New Items to Display!
Wow! It's like Mother Nature was listening. We have great items in the workroom. With this break from the rain we should have them ready to list this week. We had clients stopping in despite the rain. Getting new items out was the hard part. If anyone is interested in Vintage ~ Antique Valentine's Day Cards we have a huge selection.
AntiqueRose went out and found the greatest Cabinet Mirror it comes straight from a 1902 Craftsman home in the protected West Adams District of Los Angeles. I've been using this type of mirror for years. Rachel Ashwell places these mirrors throughout her home. I feel validated!
Also have a sweet birdcage and stand. I have such a hard time letting these go, but others deserve the charm and character these birdcages can add to the garden too.
Have you read the February Issue of Romantic Homes? I was hoping to find more Homemade Valentine Ideas. Let me know if you have any Homemade Valentine Gift/Card Ideas. This year I will finally make the Martha Stewart felt Fortune Cookies they look so sweet & simple, my 2 favorite things. Let me know what you'll be making or buying?

I did resolve to blog more often and I will!
Here at AntiqueRoseShow we are busy as ever. I feel so invigorated. We have great and beautiful furniture. We have the best customers. I can tell it's going to be a great year.
I am taking a short break. I had some clients over they just purchased our Bassett Highboy and Nightstand. They're going to look gorgeous (be sure to send pictures). I think those pieces lasted all of 2 days on our site.
I have tons of vintage doilies and I can't decide what to do with them. Any ideas?
They'll be great at Valentine's Day. Actually I'm already excited about Valentine's Day.
I've been thinking about putting up some sort of tutorial? Again, Any Ideas? Home Decorating, How To...
I'll try and get something up by next week.

Happy New Year!

This year I resolve to blog more often. I want my blogs to be more productive. I am open to criticism, praise, opinions, or advice.
2009 was a great year. I am looking forward to what 2010 has in store for me.
I can honestly say that I have the same enthusiasm for all things shabby chic that I did when I first started. I absolutely love hunting for treasures, I love decorating. Most of all I love helping all of you find those rare finds that make your house a home. There is nothing that I enjoy more than seeing someone pleased with their purchase. When I purchase treasures I will continue to buy pieces that I would display in my own home with pride.
At the end of 2009 I was a bit disappointed with the prices of Shabby Chic home furnishings. I saw beautiful furniture at outrageous prices. Shabby Chic is for the people. Anyone should be able to make their home a Shabby Chic haven. It will not be a goal of mine to compete with these prices. I will continue to offer quality, vintage, one of a kind pieces at affordable prices. After all isn't that what Shabby Chic is about?
Homework: Google, what is shabby chic? I did. Here's my favorite web definition:
The design combines the Elegance of English Country
living with the comfortable casualness of a California
lifestyle.
I'd love to hear what you find. Better yet tell me what shabby chic is to you. This should be fun.
I'll leave you with these words:
"We must keep our shabby world imperfect"
Rachel Ashwell
I found them inspiring.
